Cyberpunk 2077 lets you customize your character from head to toe. Customization ranging from hairstyle, hair colour, eyes, scars, genitals, tattoos etc but there is no use if you can’t view your person in third-person perspective (TTP). However, a recent mod allows you to change your perspective from first-person to third-person in Cyberpunk 2077.
This TTP mod is created by Jelle Baker for Cyberpunk 2077 to change your perspective to third-person. It is easy to set up and still a work in progress. Make sure to keep updating the mod as soon as possible to encounter fewer bugs.
How to install third-person mod for Cyberpunk 2077
You will need to install a software called Cyber Engine Tweaks, that is available from Nexus Mods. This is currently required for many mods on the web and allows players to tweak additional settings in its menu. Here’s how to install the TPP mod:
- Download and install Cyber Engine Tweaks from here.
- Then download file for your selected character (male/female) from here.
- Extract the file and paste here: Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks\mods\JB Third Person Mod\ini.lua (Create this file if this does not exist)
- Start Cyberpunk 2077 game.
- Wait for the game to load save files.
- Press B.
Note: This mod is available to use but it isn’t fully optimized and given the fact that this game was created with its main focus being FPP. Which means many things will not look as good as before like the animations, cutscenes etc.
That’s it your perspective should be changed now. Currently, there are 4 perspectives which can be toggled by the B key button. You can revert to the original first-person perspective by pressing the same key. This mod helps a lot as it is way better playing an open-world game in third-person perspective like in GTA, Witcher and Yakuza series. It is unlikely that an official TPP mode will be released, but if done then, a lot of things will improve as they won’t be centred against the FPP mode only.
